Our vision entails ensuring that underserved communities gain equal access to transformative and inspiring learning opportunities in IT, Cybersecurity, Healthcare, and Business, both through formal and informal education. These experiences will pave the way for future life opportunities in these fields.

Our Mission

Our Mission: MySecureKid empowers underserved children and youth by providing them with access to Internet technology and equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to safely navigate the online world. Based in Arlington, Virginia, our global 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization targets children, parents, and educators with a range of activities designed to promote online safety awareness while helping disadvantaged young people map and prepare for their future career success. We work closely with public and private sector partners to create a pipeline of diverse talent ready for careers in science, technology, engineering, math, cybersecurity (STEAM- C), healthcare, and IT through workshops, mentoring, apprenticeships, scholarships, internships, and more. Our ultimate goal is to be a bridge builder, advocate, and guide as we prepare the next generation of technology pioneers to step up as leaders working for a safe and equitable world.

About The Program

This program offers an extensive range of resources, featuring over 100 hours of self-paced instruction, complemented by numerous practice-based assessments. These assessments are designed to immerse you in authentic IT and cybersecurity scenarios, providing invaluable preparation for the demands of the professional world.

Our content is exceptionally engaging and has been exclusively crafted by seasoned industry experts with extensive backgrounds in IT and cybersecurity.

Below are the minimum laptop requirements for the course. Mac or PC are both acceptable.

Minimum Computer Requirements:

  • Personal computer (non-work issued)
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or macOS version 10.4 (Mojave) or higher
  • CPU: Dual-core processor (64-bit)
  • RAM: Minimum 8GB
  • Storage: At least 64GB of available hard drive space
  • Internet Connection: High-speed internet with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 5 Mbps (Test your speed at https://www.speedtest.net)
  • Hardware: Webcam and microphone (typically included in most computers)

How To Get Started

STEP 1. SUBMIT APPLICATION

To start, fill out the application above. After submitting the application,

we will send you a Skills Assessment to be completed within 3 days.

STEP 2. INTERVIEW

Selected candidates will be asked to submit additional documentation and be invited to a one-on-one virtual interview.

STEP 3. SELECTION & NOTIFICATION

An Advisory Board will review the candidate’s application and all submitted information. Selected candidates will be notified.
